Calibration & Control

Gearshift, paddle shift and rev matching

Configure gear position and shift requests first, then the cut/blip/rev-match strategy.

Paddle shift

The common scripts include gear-shift configuration, cut/retard profiles, throttle-blip request and timing, shift timeout, downshift inhibit thresholds and paddle-shift status flags. Some configurations also broadcast a high-rate CAN gear-shift message.

Downshift rev matching

Rev matching uses a target engine speed and closed-loop speed-control terms. Transient proportional control is used outside the target window, with proportional, integral and derivative control inside the window, together with vehicle-speed enable limits and timeout protection.

Setup order

  1. Verify gear-position calculation and paddle/switch inputs.
  2. Verify cut and throttle-blip outputs independently.
  3. Set conservative shift timeouts and inhibit limits.
  4. Calibrate feed-forward throttle blip.
  5. Then tune rev-match feedback around the target-speed window.
