Smart alternator control
Use the ECU's PWM alternator strategy only when the alternator and output hardware are compatible.
Control structure
The ECU parameters define PWM frequency, target battery voltage, proportional/integral gains, a throttle threshold that can disable alternator loading and a charge-warning voltage threshold. A base duty-cycle map versus battery voltage is also available on supported ECUs.
Commissioning
Confirm the alternator control interface and PWM polarity/frequency before enabling closed-loop control. Begin with conservative control authority and verify battery voltage over engine-speed and electrical-load changes.
